About the role:

Skyfront is looking for a UAV Test Pilot to join our production team. This critical unit assembles, prepares, and tests the longest flying multirotor drones in the world. The stakes are high: Skyfront drones fly critical missions all over the world which means they must be absolutely reliable. This hands-on role requires technical mastery and extreme focus that spans a number of areas: test flying, performing maintenance, and diagnosing/documenting potential issues.

What you’ll be working on:

• Break-in and test fly multiple Pixhawk-based UAVs per day
• Perform routine maintenance on UAVs
• Make suggestions to the production and engineering team for improvements.
• Modify existing documentation for testing SOPs
• Troubleshoot UAVs and communication systems
• Meticulously document UAV health telemetry and any problems

Requirements

• Part 107 license
• At least one year of experience operating Pixhawk-based drones
• Safety-first mindset. Exceptional attention to detail
• Proficient with common hand tools and light power tools
• Proficient with computer use (standard browser, word processing applications)
• Must be able to travel from Redwood City, CA to our test facility, one hour away. Transportation, lunch and gas will be provided.

Ideal Skills/Characteristics

• Experience with internal combustion engines, especially two-stroke engines
• Soldering and electronics rework experience
• Experience with radio systems
• Experience with QGroundControl and PX4 Autopilot

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Overtime
• Weekend availability
