Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Salary- $80.00-150.00/hr

RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Director

SUPERVISED BY: Executive Director

POSITION PURPOSE

They diagnose patients, prescribe/administer medication, and in some cases, act as a therapeutic influence. There is no end to responsibilities an NP may undertake in a busy environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Masters Degree in Nursing, current state license.

EXPERIENCE:

5-7 years of Nurse experience required, 5 years experience in substance use disorder; 2 years working under a MD- experience in addiction medicine

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

State Registered Nurse Practitioner license

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of addiction and psychiatric medications.
• Prior experience providing treatment to
• addiction/behavior patients.
• Knowledge of medical health care diagnosis and terminology, detoxification procedures, the disease of substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
• Excellent communication skills.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of Pathophysiology, Diagnostic Assessment and Chemical Dependency treatment.
• Familiar with community resources
• Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders and DSM Criteria preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
• Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION:

Type of position: FT/PT/Perdiem =hours 40 / week

All per diem employees are required to work one shift a month to stay employed with PHMA

PERFORMANCE/PROFICIENCY

STANDARDS:

Performance standards are integrated within the position responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned based upon changes in regulatory oversight or needs of the program

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

• Ensuring adherence to the required HIPPA and documentation requirements as identified by county, state and federal regulatory agencies.
• Assesses the physiological, behavioral, and psychosocial health status of patients as required for safe and appropriate care and communicates relevant information to the interdisciplinary treatment team in a timely manner.
• May assist in the development of treatment plans and provides care consistent with these plans
• Interacts with patients, counseling staff, clinical dietician, psychiatrist, medical director, other nurse practitioner(s), and other members of the interdisciplinary care team in such a manner that promotes a high standard of care.
• Signs all med orders when needed
• Prescribes patient medications as needed
• Completes H/P with new admits when needed
• Completes all medical documentation as needed
• Functions under the direct supervision of the ED/Medical Director in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care, Standards of Practice for Registered Professional Nurse as directed by the State Board of Nursing, Nursing Service and Psyclarity Health Policies Procedures
• Participates in UR reviews as needed
• Collaborates with the treatment team in order to determine appropriate treatment/discharge plan
