Express Employment Professionals Hiring for Food Service Supervisor Full Time

Our client in Waterlooand is looking for a Food Service Supervisor to join their Team. Our client offers seniors vibrant retirement lifestyle opportunities!

· Pay Rate: $22.50/hr

· Shift: Full-Time 75hrs over two weeks – alternating mornings (6am-2pm) and Afternoons (11:15am-7:15pm) with alternating weekends off.

· Contract role, possibility of extension for the right candidate!

Responsibilities of a Food Service Supervisor:

· Ensures that the Food Services Department is meeting the residents’ nutritional needs and follows the Canada Food Guide for Seniors.

· Accurately ordering and cooking food, use of seasonal foods, taking advantage of specials and rotation of stock.

· Ensures that adequate standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained in food handling, food storage, and food service.

· Prepares and cooks food as per menu rotation; supervises Food Services Workers, food preparation, and all other food service functions.

· Deals personally with Public Health Inspectors during food services inspections as needed.

· Assists the Culinary Manager in developing the rotational menus with input from the residents.

· Evaluates staff performance in conjunction with the Culinary Manager to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

· Assists Culinary Manager with time and work schedules, assigns duties based on work priorities and availability of staff, redistributing staff where necessary, checking attendance, and maintaining accurate records.

· Ensures availability and maintenance of food services supplies and equipment and submits requisitions as necessary.

· Completes required monthly s for the Culinary Manager.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements For This Position:

· Minimum 2yrs experience in a cooking role

· Culinary education background and prior leadership experience considered a definite asset.

· Able to pass a criminal background check

· Lifting – up to 50-60 lbs. for food storage or preparation duties

· Pushing / pulling up to 45 lbs.

· Standing and walking is required during all preparatory tasks

· Full cervical and lumbar functional range of motion occurs throughout workday.

· Constant forward reaching to various distances occurs throughout the workday.

· Constant functional bilateral wrist range of motion is required.

· The elbow is pronated for the majority of tasks

· Several types of gripping actions using both hands are utilized throughout the workday on a frequent to constant basis

· Must be able to set priorities and meet deadlines as workload may fluctuate as admissions, resident needs and discharges occur.

· Must be able to concentrate in an environment of interruption and change.
