The Opportunity

The Role

As a Production Operator/ Technician, you are responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation and monitoring of plant and equipment within the Pulp Mill including; Digester, Fibreline, Recausticising, Lime kiln, chemical recovery, power /steam system and utilities within a closed-loop, integrated pulp and paper mill.

This technical role requires you to work efficiently; trouble shooting plant and equipment and finding feasible solutions to technical issues. This unique role requires hands-on experience in a paper mill or similar manufacturing environment.

Your strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure will suit this fast paced environment. And your attitude where no job is too small, passion to learn new skills, and ability to lead by example, will fit right into the team.

• Power boiler
• Turbine
• Steam distribution System
• Evaporators
• Recrystallization Plant
• Water and effluent Treatment Plant

Tasks and Responsibilities for the role include:

• Physical in-field inspections and trouble-shooting/ problem solving technical issues that may arise
• Isolation and de-isolation of plant and equipment including steam distribution systems, boilers, turbines, evaporators
• High level commitment to operational procedures and safety mechanisms
• Analysis of data and troubleshooting complex systems problems to develop short to medium term plans and solutions for production optimization
• Analysis and identification of process control maintenance requirements

What you will bring to the team

• Qualification within any of the following areas as a minimum; Pulp Making, Power Plant Operations, or Electrical, Mechanical or Production Engineering
