Job Title – Special Education Teacher

ExpertHiring is currently seeking an experienced “Special Education Teacher” to fill an opening with a “Education Management” located in Georgetown, Texas. The ideal candidate should have 2 -5 years of experience in delivery of special education and ESL services with bachelor’s degree and Texas Teacher Certification in Special Education.

Requirements of Special Education Teacher

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Texas Teacher Certification in Special Education.
• Two-five years’ experience in delivery of special education and ESL services and proper coding of all services of special needs students.
• Knowledge of Montessori education preferred.
• Experience with current special education practices and methodologies.
• Knowledge and understanding of State of Texas and federal regulations and policies related to special education and ESL assessment, service-delivery, evaluation, and ing.
• Knowledge of TEA and federal timelines and requirements and ability to complete necessary tasks to stay in compliance.
• Knowledge of Special Education laws and legally binding documents in compliance with those laws.
• Understanding of software applications (Microsoft Office, Success Ed., and Google Platform)

Responsibility of Special Education Teacher

• Responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programs and instruction for special needs students in integrated settings in consultation with Special Education Coordinator.
• Will participate in ARDs and facilitate communication with parents and families at school regarding Special Education Services.
• Monitor, evaluate, and document each student’s progress utilizing appropriate measurements and assessment devices.
• Develop and implement necessary interventions and strategies to promote achievement of student objectives.
• Collaborate and consult with Special Education Coordinator and school personnel regarding the implementation of IEPs and special educational services.
• Work closely with school registrar to timely and accurately account for Special Education student data.
• Modify and adapt conventional educational programs and curriculum to meet the requirements of special needs students.
• Maintain regular communication with parents by means of email, phone calls, conferences, and progress s.
• Assist parents with understanding and supporting educational objectives, learning expectations, and behavioral standards.
• Ensure adherence to reasonable rules of classroom discipline and order to maintain a secure and effective learning environment.
• Manage student behavior through monitoring, supervising, and assessing behavioral patterns.
• Instruct students on socially acceptable behaviors and personal development skills and utilize appropriate corrective methods to modify behavior.
• Prepare special needs students for inclusion.
• Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with school regulations and legal requirements.
• Participate in school professional development.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees.
• Track students and data for SPED, ESL, 504, RTI, and other special programs.
• Attend meetings and trainings at ESC 13, or as requested by Special Education Coordinator.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
