Embedded Software Controls Test Engineer Job Summary:

BAA is seeking an experienced Controls and Software Engineer for developing unit and system test plans from requirements and implementing them in the Simulink test environment. These would be within the context of complex control, signal processing and diagnostic systems for internal combustion engines. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate collaboration within a team environment.

Embedded Software Controls Test Engineer Key Responsibilities:

● Develop and implement software controls and diagnostics test plans at the unit and system levels for internal combustion engine controls. These shall validate compliance with Software Requirements, Interface Agreements, and design standards.

● Create Software Change Requests as required.

● Working in a team environment, highlight software functionality and integration issues.

● Troubleshoot failures back to Root Cause.

● Prepare and deliver technical status presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint.

● Conduct cross-functional design reviews and document them.

Embedded Software Controls Test Engineer Required Skills:

● Experience and proficiency in model-based software development using MATLAB and Simulink including the application of simulation models.

● Experience writing software requirements and using requirements management tools such as Windchill RV&S (formerly PTC Integrity).

● Working knowledge of Gitlab tool a plus

● Understanding of engine mechanical systems, especially fuel systems a plus.

● Experience with software configuration management tools.

● Proficient in the use of MS Excel (required), MS Office, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.

● Proficient in the use of basic statistics and data analysis techniques including Minitab, MATLAB, and other tools.

Embedded Software Controls Test Engineer Education and Experience Requirements:

● Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree is required. Electrical engineering or computer science with embedded controls development focus or mechanical engineering with actual software and controls experience.

● 2 years minimum relevant experience
