Nystrom & Associates Ltd Hiring for Residential Treatment Director/SUD Program Manager Full Time

As the Residential Treatment Director and SUD Program Manager at the Nystrom Residential Treatment Center in Big Lake, MN, you will help to support and build a team that is helping adult individuals in their substance abuse recovery process by providing a safe, stable environment that is clinically managed by Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselors (LADCs), nursing staff, and mental health professionals. Our 54-bed residential facility has been designed to provide Substance Use Disorder and Co-Occurring services to men and women over 18 years of age.

This role s directly to the Vice President of Addiction Services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide program oversight at the Residential Treatment Center. Manage the day to day operations of programs. Lead oversight and monitoring of:
  • Program census: monitor each counselor’s caseload size based on their abilities.
  • Residential census: ensure budgeted census.
  • Client retention: provide oversight of counselor’s census and caseload.
  • Provider productivity: ensure all staff are attending to assigned tasks.
  • Facility needs such as equipment, facility repairs and supplies.
  • Oversight of nursing, technicians, house keeping, intake/admissions, counselors and grounds.
• Maintain knowledge of and enforce Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. (NAL) 245G Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Program Policy and Procedure Manual including Department of Human Services (DHS) 245G Chemical Dependency Licensed Treatment Facilities Statutes.
  • Understand the Grievance Policy and assist SUD Site Supervisors, LADCs, and clients navigate the process to resolve grievances at the lowest level in a timely manner. Document and save grievances to the company drive.
  • Assists with the development of new policy and procedure as
  • Maintain requirements needed for a MDH SLF Supervised Living Facility and Big Lake Fire Department Marshall Inspections.
• Maintain knowledge of and assure supervisees appropriate use of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – 5 (DSM – 5).
  • Ensure counselors adhere to ASAM Criteria for admitting clients into ASAM Levels of Care, maintains clients in the level of care according to continuing stay criteria and that the clients meet discharge criteria when moving to a different level of care.
  • Ensure counselors are using symptomology to diagnose clients with substance use disorders and clearly document the criteria to substantiate the diagnosis.
• Maintain current knowledge of changes in DHS 245G Chemical Dependency Licensed Treatment Facilities Statutes, clinical standards, and evidenced-based practices.
• In conjunction with SUD compliance, SUD Site Supervisor, ensure timely staff completion of required and ongoing trainings in Relias, CPR and First Aid.
• Conduct annual performance reviews for team members within 1-year of hire date.
  • Upload to Relias and send to human resources and payroll for compensation adjustments.
  • Ensure completion of staff’s annual performance reviews.
• In conjunction with NAL Quality Assurance Department, conduct regular chart audits of each SUD Site Supervisor based on 245G documentation standards to maintain compliance with timely documentation completion, clinical thoroughness and accurate billing for services provided.
  • Ensure staff are billing timely and accurately. Resolve any missing and problematic billing.
• Attend SUD Clinical Case Consultation Meetings to support SUD Site Supervisor.
  • Assist with executing meeting agenda if needed:
    • Conflict/Use/Discharge Case Reviews
    • Transition Case Reviews
    • 30/60/90/ect. Case Reviews
    • Orientation Case Reviews

• Assist SUD Site Supervisor in providing coverage or arranging coverage for absent LADC’s to facilitate SUD Groups or to conduct SUD Comprehensive Assessments, SUD Orientations, and SUD Individuals as needed. In emergent situations, provide coverage.
• Ensure consistent implementation of approved SUD Group Curriculum and SUD Family Program.
• Ensure fully complete, 245G compliant group sign in sheets completed and turned into the site supervisor. Group sign-ins will be uploaded into the SUD residential site in Sharepoint.
• Assist in the recruitment, hiring and training of professional program staff, alumni volunteers, and interns including leading SUD New Hire Training as needed.
• Coordinate with NAL Marketing Team to promote program growth and marketing efforts.
• Act as a liaison and with other service providers within NAL, the community and referents (probation, CPS, treatment facilities) including resolving issues/concerns that arise.
  • Provide monthly review of contracts and MOUS.
  • Reach out to referents to generate referrals and maintain referent relationships.
• Safeguard personally identifiable health information in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA notification statement and standards including 42CFR.
• Meet regularly with SUD Program Director, Quality Assurance and other NAL leadership to discuss overall performance of SUD programs. Attend other relevant program and company meetings as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in the human services field, masters degree preferred. Full Licensure of one of the following: (RN, LP, LICSW, LPCC, LADC)
• Three or more years of experience providing individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorder.
• Must meet staff qualifications of an Alcohol and Drug Counselor in MN Statute 245G.11 Subd. 5.
• Must meet staff qualifications of an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor in MN Statute 245G.11 Subd. 4 including:
• Ability to supervise programming including understanding of administrative and business aspects of the program.
• Must be free of problematic substance use for at least the two years immediately preceding employment and must sign a statement attesting to that fact.
