Corporate Controller

ing to the President, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, and ing activities. As the head of the accounting department, he or she will handle high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and oversee the financial and human resource activities of the company. The Corporate Controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting from payroll to tax compliance. He or she will be involved in supporting presentations to the board and working closely with the senior leadership team and assisting with the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and ing systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, budgets, and actual expenditures
• Coordinate all audit activity
• Consistently analyze financial data and present financial s in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of financial status
• Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate
• Oversee all financial and project accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with budgets throughout the development period
• Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with senior leadership; continuously collaborate with senior leadership to assess the financial efficiency of operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support operations
• Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines
• Perform contract negotiations (i.e. property maintenance and services), other significant cost controlling centers and other related matters
• Oversee human resources
• Additional controller duties as needed

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
• Ideal candidate has 5 to 10 years of experience in field
• Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager
• Excellent computer skills; experienced with Microsoft Office Suite; Access, database, or other system knowledge
• Proficiency with accounting software (including QuickBooks) and experience with a software system implementation
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
• Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
• Attention to detail
• Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
• CRE experience or credentials a plus

Compensation:

Compensation is a combination of competitive pay (depending on experience) and discretionary bonuses

Base Salary: Starting from $80,000 per year
