Mechanic Helper

Position Summary

United Safety is hiring a Mechanic Helper in our Airdrie location to support the demands of our growing business. You will be responsible for general repairs and shop clean up, as well as the tracking of equipment as it gets repaired and serviced among other duties in the shop. We’re looking for a self-starter who is mechanically minded/inclined and who enjoys working around equipment and tools and capable of repetitive physically demanding work. This role requires attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and communicate well since your day-to-day work will be in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

· Learn and take notes daily regarding equipment worked on

· Performs shop clean-up duties to ensure orderliness and safety of work areas

· Perform general repairs to basic operations equipment

· Ability to lift and/or maneuver heavy objects over 50lbs

· Assembly and disassembly of various types of equipment using basic hand tools, shelving, and storage racks

· Operate Material Handling equipment including forklifts

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements

● Over 18 and legally authorized to work in Canada

● Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (No GDLs) and clean driver’s abstract

● Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol and fitness (PDA) testing
