Moon Valley Nurseries Hiring for Content Writer Full Time

The Staff Content Specialist (written content/video production/editing/photography) is responsible for capturing the visuals of our nursery and landscape operations – taking pictures of trees, plants, employees & customers, taking videos of planting and landscaping operations, operational activities, training materials, etc.; and edit/catalog utilizing our state-of-the-art computer graphics workstation. Work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including for example: written content, websites, training videos, product slicks and videos, social media, etc.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Source and book locations, models, and resources as needed to deliver pictures and video of trees, shrubs, plants, landscapes, etc.

· Work within budgets, time constraints, and often less than optimal environments.

· Locate and identify desirable subject matter, set up photo shoots, storyboard video, and various Adobe or other photo/video editing software.

· Write web content including blogs, product write-ups, press release, and special projects

· Be proficient in creating videos for the web while having a firm grasp on the ins and outs of different device usage.

· Schedule and execute photo shoots at MVN stores, on MVN farms, and at customer sites.

· Maintain schedule of where to be, and record of cites visited.

· Proof, sort, organize, edit and catalog all photo and video materials so they are accessible and usable by marketing team, trainers, stores, etc.

· Take and edit photos and videos for print material, MVN web site, social media sites, yelp, YouTube, training videos, etc.

· Deliver high energy, artistic excellence, and positive public image to our customers, employees, managers, etc. on consistent basis.

· Interact in a positive and professional manner with customers to secure photo opportunities.

· Educates managers and install crews on best practices and techniques for taking job site photos.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Expert knowledge of photography, videography, and graphic processes.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills;

· Ability to multitask while performing at a high level.

· Excellent communication, customer service, training, organization, and administration skills.

· Knowledge in SEO

· Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality.

· Strong active listening skills.

· Accurate with a strong attention to detail.

· Strong time management, organizational skills and follow through.

· Ability to cope with change and work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

· Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external contacts.

· Ability to manage multiple assignments, activities and projects.

· Expert in Word, PowerPoint, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and some form of video editing software (preferably Premiere);

· Ability to work in a multitude of different environments, including potentially challenging and sometimes extreme conditions in SoCal, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.

· Ability to travel on a regular basis.

· Experience with camera drones, or the ability to learn and get licensed to operate a drone, desired

Education

Four-year degree in photography, graphic art, Advertising, journalism, or related field (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience

Physical requirements/Working conditions

• 60% of time in basic office environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects up to 50 lbs;
• 40% of time traveling to and working in retail and farm operations lifting, standing for long periods of time, and working outdoors and in the heat of the day, in dusty, dry, hot environments.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
