POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the development, oversight and improvement of all manufacturing processes within the respective product line. Ensures that all processes accurately reflect the production practices, costing is adequate, and quality requirements meets or exceeds customer specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, document and oversee the manufacturing process for Tungsten Heavy Metal (WHM) products in cooperation with manufacturing and quality control to ensure that all applicable standards are met or exceeded.
2. Develop new processes, manufacturing methods, equipment and tooling as required to improve process capabilities, material yields, and develop new products.
3. Develop processes to improve dimensional capability, resulting in reduced green and sintered scrap, and improve geometric capability.
4. Provide technical support to customers to define product/process requirements or troubleshoot existing materials or applications. Hands on with shop floor employees to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
5. In conjunction with quality control and quality assurance to resolve nonconforming material issues, customer complaints, complete and implement corrective and preventative action measures, perform FMEA or other analyses to support all quality initiatives.
Deal with equipment vendors and travel to vendor sites during equipment development.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Materials, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
2. 3-5 years’ experience in a similar or related powder metals manufacturing environment.
3. Working knowledge of MRP/ERP planning tools.
4. Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent solid-modeling software.
5. Proficient in using MS Office software.
6. Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language.
7. This position may require the applicant to be licensed under certain United States laws and regulations

9. Experience with SPC, Lean Manufacturing and SAP is desirable.
10. Relevant work experience in hard metal or powder metallurgy processing is desirable.
Note: This position will involve access to export-controlled technical data and/or technology and the position requires either U.S. Person status or the ability to obtain an export license from the appropriate government agency for Non-U.S. Persons.
