Payson Park Preschool in Belmont MA is seeking experienced Preschool Lead Teacher to work full time 8:00 am -5:00 pm. The preschool calendar year is consistent with Belmont Public Schools with school breaks in November, December (1 week), February (1 week), April, (1 week), June (1 week) and August (3 weeks paid vacation) and seven individual school holidays.
This position also works the Summer Program in July and August. Our program is play-based with an emphasis on learning along with music and science immersion. Our caring and committed community is an important component of our program.

Full Job Description Lead Teacher’s Role and Responsibilities
ï‚· The smooth running of the day-to-day program as developed by the Director, ensuring the safety of the children, and their emotional, social, and educational growth.
 Submitting a weekly curriculum plan to the Director and implementing appropriate changes in the classroom’s learning environment.
ï‚· Following the career path for obtaining the toddlers lead qualifications required by EEC to support our program.
ï‚· Keeping daily attendance records and any other records required by the Director.
ï‚· Participating in regularly scheduled staff meetings: once a month or otherwise required by the Director.
ï‚· Attendance at staff development workshops in accordance with Department of Early Education and Care regulations requiring a minimum of 20 hours in a school year for a full-time staff member.
ï‚· Working cooperatively with co-workers to plan and implement class programs under the guidance of the Director.
ï‚· Sharing the program philosophy and interpreting the program to parents with the guidance of the Director.
ï‚· Conducting parent-teacher conferences twice a year unless otherwise needed. Writing and submitting evaluations on each child.
ï‚· Maintaining communication with the director about concerns with any children that might need to be discussed with parents.
ï‚· Any problems concerning children should be discussed with the director before meeting with parents.
