Jackson Memorial Baptist Church Hiring for JMBC FINANCIAL SECRETARY (2022) Full Time

Position: Bookkeeper for Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia 23321 providing accounting services for all church financial needs. The job is ideal for someone who wants to work while children are in school or wants to only work part-time.

Hours: Part-time, 15 hours/week, flexible hours, preferably 9am to 2:30pm, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Salary: $14,000 to $15,600 a year.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain general ledger and a general journal.

• Maintain the organization’s bank accounts.

• Maintain accounts payable and cash receipts.

• Maintain contribution records and prepare statements for donors.

• Prepare needed weekly and monthly s for staff and appropriate committees.

• Interface with the payroll processor.

• Preform related work as required.

Qualifications:

• Accounting/Bookkeeping experience.

• Working knowledge of accounting software (ACS preferred).

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite software.

• Conscientious work ethic on collaborative and independent assignments.

• Comfortable working in a church staff environment,

• Consent to background check.

• Provide references.

• Live in commuting area.

• Not a JMBC member.
