Vice President of Human Resources
DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for all aspects of human resources, recruiting, union labor relations, employee benefit plans, HRIS and employee relations. Partners with the legal and operations departments to ensure all employment based policies are in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations while achieving company objectives.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

4. Unrestricted ability to travel.
5. Ability to relocate to the Corporate Headquarters in Irving, TX within 3 months.
6. Successfully pass all pre-employment screening and ability to obtain a SIDA badge as needed.
7. Draft, develop, enforce and maintain all employment related policies while partnering with legal to ensure their compliance with all federal, state and local ordinances.
8. Coordinate with legal counsel on employment related legal matters and litigation.
9. Develop and manage all hiring, recruiting and retention policies and practices to achieve optimal results while ensuring a positive candidate/employee experience.
10. Lead all union labor relations negotiation strategies and relationships to ensure labor peace while achieving the company’s business objectives.
11. Foster positive employee relations and ensure all employee complaints are objectively and timely investigated according to company policy and in compliance with all pertinent compliance requirements.
12. Partner with operational leadership and provide guidance and counsel to support and achieve the company and business goals.
13. Manage employee health and welfare benefit plans to maximize talent acquisition and reduce attrition.
14. Oversee HRIS and use latest HR technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
15. Partner with the DEI Vice President and Council to foster an environment of inclusion.
16. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and industry requirements.
17. Oversee, manage and develop HR directors, managers and administrative staff across the country.
18. Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets,
19. Collaborate with other functional/departmental leaders to achieve business objectives and ensure they are fully aligned with all employment and HR strategies and requirements.
20. Track and utilize employment related data to develop trends and s to optimize results.
21. Execute the responsibilities of a company vice president according to lawful and ethical standards, as referenced in Company’s Code of Conduct and Business statements.
22. Foster a one team approach to the HR departments around the country
23. Maintain confidentiality at a high level
24. Participate in senior level management strategy meetings
25. Act as person most knowledgeable regarding Human Resource Functions
26. Attend continuing education or employment and management related seminars or webinars to maintain level of expertise
27. Open door approach to management
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
2. Ten (10) years previous human resource management experience with an employee base in excess of 3,000.
3. Previous experience in an executive level Human Resource role is preferred.
4. Union labor relations and Collective Bargaining experience is required.
5. Prior HR management experience in the California labor law market is required.
6. Minimum of seven (7) years progressive experience managing a team of HR professionals.
7. Prior experience in aviation, transportation, retail, hospitality or a related industry preferred
8. Highly developed diplomacy skills proven to facilitate collaboration across organization with both internal and external customers.
9. Expert knowledge of FMLA, ADA, EEOC and other applicable employment regulations.
10. Demonstrated experience managing benefit plans and HR Information Systems.
11. Possesses expert level communication and negotiation skills, proven ability to influence others to achieve resolutions in complex and highly charged situations.
12. Demonstrated presentation, training and facilitation skills.
13. Possesses sound judgment, expert problem solving skills and the highest degree of integrity.
14. Ability to handle and safeguard highly sensitive and confidential information.
15. Superior organizational and time management skills.
