We are looking for a Butcher Shoppe Culinary Manager!

Probably the coolest concept to hit the Charlotte Area, The New York Butcher Shoppe is redefining what access to high quality meats, seafood, chicken and pork looks like in Charlotte and surrounding areas. We combine that with the ability for our guest to try the product before they buy it in our Wine Bar. Our Wine Bar menu is designed to showcase 100% our top quality premium proteins that will surely convert any dining guest into a long term Butcher Shoppe regular customer! We are NOT a restaurant! We ARE a premium full service butcher shoppe that sells amazing proteins and prepared foods as well as beer and wine. Our Wine Bar serves from a small menu available 7 days a week.

Our Culinary Manager will oversee all staff, budgets and operations of The New York Butcher Shoppe & Wine Bar. General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies.

The New York Butcher Shoppe Culinary Manager is a guest facing position with a high degree of guest interaction. The ideal candidate must be hospitality driven and possess a strong desire to connect with the clientele. We differentiate on hospitality, 5 star guest experiences and exceptional food and wine.

This is the perfect job for that strong KM or former Chef that loves the energy and pace of the restaurant industry but no longer desires the pressures, schedules, late hours or stresses of the restaurant industry. Work/life balance is a key priority for The New York Butcher Shoppe Ownership and all our Teammates.

Schedule is 5 days per week, 9-10 hour shifts. Shoppe hours are from 10am-8pm weekdays, until 9pm Friday and Saturday and 12 Noon until 6pm Sundays.

We are closed most major holidays such as Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, New Years Day, July 4th.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations including meat cutting, executing prepared meals, wine bar operations, ordering and receiving, accounts payables, schedule writing and labor controls and COGS management to name a few
• Design strategy and set goals for growth
• Maintain budgets and optimize expenses. This is a COGS sensitive business. You must demonstrate proficiency in managing cost at a high level
• Set policies and processes
• Ensure teammates work productively and develop professionally
• Oversee recruitment and training of new teammates
• Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
• Direct the teammate assessment process
• Prepare regular s for Owners
• Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
• Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)

Skills

• Proven experience as a Chef, Kitchen Manager or similar senior leadership role
• Experience in planning and budgeting
• Meat cutting and or fabrication experience a huge plus
• Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
• Strong analytical ability, particularly around COGS and labor expenses.
• Excellent communication skills
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Problem-solving aptitude
• Prior Food Preparation and or retail grocery experience is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
