Chris Preble from the Syracuse Robert Half office is engaged by a Syracuse employer to find their next Controller. ing into the CFO and working closely with leadership and other departments in the organization, you will be involved in running the day to day operations of the accounting department as well as involvement in the strategic decision making of the organization. Your responsibilities in this role
– Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
– Collaborate with executive team to support efficient and effective organization-wide operation
– Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
– Analyze deliverables of self and team
– Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
– Work with internal and external internal audit departments
– Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
– Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
– Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
The Controller should have…
– Manufacturing industry experience
– Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
– BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
– Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
