The Role You Will Play: Logistics Engineer
- Manages the flow of material from suppliers to production for all operations of the
Hanover site.
- Responsible for site wide SLP (systematic layout planning).
- Responsible for warehouse space optimization through the use of slotting
techniques, skid space, cube utilization and “right size” packaging
- Responsible for supporting customer packaging needs and packaging information
requests.
- Partners with Materials and Operations to develop and implement solutions for
optimizing material presentation to maximize flow through the plant and line
productivity.
- Drive implementation of standard containerization throughout all operations.
- Researches and Benchmarks best practices in industry related to logistics and
material flow.
- Ensures Hanover sites inventory accuracy and cycle count program complies with
corporate policies including tracking and ing duties.
- Oversees onsite third party logistics personnel and facilitates transportation projects
and changes implemented via third party logistics provider for the Hanover sites.
- Drives operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and budget goals
are achieved.
- Evaluates logistics constraints and implements Lean Manufacturing techniques to
improve capacities.
- Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering to define and implement cost-
effective continuous improvement projects.
Background Profile: Logistics Engineer
- Requires a minimum of two years of operations experience in a Lean Manufacturing
environment
- Requires a Bachelor degree in related discipline, or nontechnical degree with proven
experience
- Greenbelt Certification preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills required.
- Strong Written and Oral communications skills are required.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities is required.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on
Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles is required.
- Demonstrated experience in motivating and leading people, driving a positive work
environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- AS400 & SAP Experience is a plus
