Responsibilities: The responsibilities include working directly with the Budget Analyst 4 (Supervisor) in developing operating and capital budget proposals for two divisions. This position is responsible for budget development, accounts payables and receivables, coordination and management of revenue accounts, accrual and grant budget functions, reimbursements, revenue tracking and projecting, and oversight of state-legislatively appropriated funds. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications: Two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of professional accounting or finance experience, which includes experience working with the following: Other state policies and proceduresKnowledge of governmental accounting State ing systems: Agency Financial ing Systems (AFRS)Technical proficiency in developing power point presentationsState of Washington’s budgeting and accounting policies and regulations; principles and procedures of governmental accounting and budgeting; and methods of accounting systems design.Efficient using MS Excel to create, modify, print, and format spreadsheets.DNR Core Competencies: Personal Accountability Value Others Compassionate Communication Inspire Others Commitment to Excellence Working Conditions: Employees of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are required to complete their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines (be fully vaccinated against COVID-19) or be approved for a medical or religious exemption and accommodation as a condition of employment. A master’s degree can substitute for some experience.Demonstrated experience in the following: Effectively working independently under general supervision.Effectively applying and adapting established accounting methods to a variety of payable and accounting transactions.Effectively analyzing, monitoring, and evaluating accounting activities.Experience in natural resource management business practices and familiarity with forest management operations.Supervisory Experience.Experience writing and reviewing legislation analysis and fiscal notes.
