Intermediate Quality Assurance Software Developer

Salary Range – $75,000 – $90,000 – DOE

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, with some latitude for un-reviewed action, plans and designs tests and test plans to ensure the proper functioning of the Cornell Software Development Team’s products. Engages in test and software troubleshooting, files bug s with the Software team, and helps to triage issues based on severity and prevalence. May provide technical guidance and assistance to other Cornell Engineers by performing duties outlined below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Design front-end and back-end tests that maximize test coverage.
• Write automated tests.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipeline.
• Investigate the cause of test failures.
• Work with software team to help resolve bugs and to learn about architecture.
• Perform manual tests when needed.
• Document test procedures and plans.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• At least two years of professional experience with test automation or software development.
• A solid understanding of software testing best practices.

USEFUL ADDITIONAL FAMILIARITY

• Cloud development, Amazon Web Service (AWS).
• Pytest, Jest, and React testing libraries.
• Web application test automation software, such as Selenium or Playwright.
• Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence).

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer/Electrical Engineering or related fields
