Cortelyou Early Childhood Center Hiring for After School Teacher Full Time

Childcare experience is a plus. Working with ELA & Math is a plus.

Partime College students or Part-Time Second Career candidates are welcome

Monday-Friday 2pm-6pm (Must be available)

Part Time position from 2 to 6:00pm. Must be able to comitt to this partime position from from January – June.

Must have excellent calssromm management skills, Excellent human relation skills, good organizational and communication skills. Must have demonstrated knowledge of child development staff supervision, program planning and implementation.

Under the general direction of the After-School Program Supervisor, the candidate is responsible for supervising and planning developmentally appropriate activities for school-age children. Homework assistance and extracurricular activities is a major part of the counselor’s job. You must be filled with energy and full of initiative.

Coordinate the planning and implementation of daily program alongside the After School Supervisor.

Provide supervision to after school children and serve as a positive role model. Along side the After School Supervisor you must be able to do the following:

• Plan, implement and supervise a developmentally and academically appropriate program that meets the social, emotional and behavioral needs of the children.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe learning and recreational environment for all program areas.
• Develop and maintain weekly and monthly calendar of activities and snack menu displays for parents.
• Enforce all DOH policies and procedures and NYS OCFS regulations to ensure the safety of all children.
• Maintain appropriate and professional communication with parents.
• Maintain program’s daily attendance sheet.
• Maintain accurate weekly record of information & log book.
• Skill sets that can be shared with our students such as singing, playing an instrument or a sport, arts & crafts, computer programming, etc. is a PLUS

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour

• Afterschool Service: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:
