Eastern Shipping Worldwide Hiring for FCL/LCL Transport Coordinator Full Time

Eastern is currently seeking an FCL/LCL Transport Coordinator to join the team in the Wood Dale, Illinois location. This person ensures timely and accurate movement of FCL/LCL freight as well as coordinating DOT compliance requirements. The responsibilities for this position can include: Responsible for executing the customer’s request for transportation via the most efficient and cost-effective manner while providing the highest level of service. You will be able to identify carrier networks, negotiate rates, and ensure our customer’s freight gets delivered. Act as the interface between the clients, vendors and our Operations team. Accountable to develop and maintain the most cost effective and efficient logistics platform to maximize customer savings. Must be able to track and trace interfaces or issues handling client and vendor interactions. Needs to demonstrate the ability to service on-demand as well as scheduled or routed work. Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed in support of customer driven requirements.

The successful Coordinator will possess the following:  3+ years ocean FCL trucking dispatching experience in a transportation environment, intermodal experience preferred, Effective oral and written communication skills High level leadership and customer service abilities, Problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail Strong work ethic and ability to multitask Ability to negotiate with independent contractors (drivers), dispatch experience, DOT compliance experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Eastern Shipping Worldwide can provide training, where necessary, but prefers a candidate with a minimum of 2-5 years of direct industry experience. Industry experience is preferred. We are seeking a coordinator with attention to detail, the ability to learn new ideas quickly, high-quality standards, well-developed multi-tasking and computer skills, and excellent customer service skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
