This Software Engineer is someone who has MIL-STD-1553 experience as well as familiarity with protocol serialization. The P-8 Vehicle Simulation Software Team develops quality training software of onboard surveillance and weapons systems and the software for a full motion pilot training simulator for both Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS).
P-8 Aircrew Training currently supports multiple concurrent contracts (foreign and domestic) and continues to grow with the next large-scale USN development planned in 2023. The P-8 Aircrew Training Program operates in a SAFe Agile environment utilizing cross-functional teams (Software, Systems Engineering, Integration) all executing toward a common trainer delivery.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, engineering, mathematics, physics, or other technical degree .
3+ years of experience with professional software development and programming in a collaborative environment using an Objective Oriented Programming language such as Java, C++, or C#
Experience developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Experience with developing in both Linux and Windows environments
Experience with Git & Gitlab
Experience with MIL-STD-1553
Familiarity with developing automation software
Familiarity with data serialization
Modeling and Simulation Experience
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience with VersionOne
Typical education and experience
Associate (Level 2)
