Project Experience: Waste Water, Water Treatment Plants, Underground Utilities, Pipeline, Shoring, Tunneling

Responsibilities (Project Engineer):

– Manage Contractor on-site construction activities as the designated Project Engineer / Junior Project Manager

– Coordinate with Contractor to maintain the project schedule in an attempt to avoid potential delays, achieve milestones and meet completion dates

– Develop and evaluate project schedules.

– Participate with project team to ensure timely coordination of submittals, requests for information (RFI’s) and plan revisions

– Monitor and inspect work progress for quality control and quality assurance; identify and resolve problem issues in a timely manner

– Prepare daily field observation s and monthly s along with progress photo documentation

– Participate in weekly progress meetings; review pay applications; review and resolve change order requests; assist with closeout/turnover activities

– Analyze and update cost information on job cost ing data. Review all billings to ensure accurate reflection of job cost.

– Submit regular billings to owners, Public Works and State Departments to ensure prompt payment.

– Process all change orders as required by project owners to include detail necessary for job cost ing software.

– Read and interpret owner’s drawings and specifications insuring that staff and sub- contractors understand all the specific job requirements.

– Monitor self-performed work to ensure labor and equipment resources are in line with needs.

– Review daily time sheets to insure accurate job cost data.

– Create and maintain general schedule and update schedule as job progresses or changes.

– Create ten day detailed schedule and update weekly.

– Provide all personnel and sub-contractor personnel with sufficient notice to ensure all work is started on schedule.

Qualifications (Project Engineer):

– Requires a minimum of 3-8 years’ experience with skills to manage multi-disciplined engineering projects. Must have strong technical knowledge with proven experience in project management experience in the construction industry with projects in the fields of heavy civil, Infra structure, Water, Sewer and underground utility construction.

– Must have a thorough understanding of practices and procedures in underground construction industry as it relates to general engineering work for; Public, Private, and State Department projects

– Must have prior experience delivering public projects for Los Angeles area municipalities, county and state agencies

– Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred, but may be substituted by experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
