CP Medical Hiring for Buyer Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY
CP Medical is seeking a Buyer to join our team in Norcross, GA. We are a leading manufacturer and distributor of surgical solutions, specializing in products for wound closure and speciality surgical applications in the veterinary and medical markets.

This position is responsible for analyzing, planning, and managing the flow of raw materials to ensure they are available to manufacturing to meet and satisfy our customer demands for both quality and quantity. Material and supplier related and other projects account for about half of the workload. Demand planning is about 20% of the workload, with the other 30% is executing and following up on PO’s.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the supply chain for raw materials, including quantity on hand for products, planned and actual demand, by managing supplier relationships and activities.

• Works with production planning to understand future demand, including forecast changes/add and new customers and/or products.
• Ensure the Sage X3 database contains current, accurate supplier, contract, purchase order and purchasing-related and raw material data and information. This includes planning information and MRP drivers.
• Maintains each supplier’s file is current and accurate; and that it contains the proper documentation. Manage open purchase orders and ensures they are properly closed in a timely manner.
• Implement and manage supply agreements for key suppliers as assigned. Negotiate contract and supply agreements as appropriate.
• Manages key suppliers as assigned ensuring specifications are communicated and followed. Suppliers must adhere to all specifications and changes must be approved prior to implementation.
• Supports cost reduction and other assigned projects. Projects such as sourcing new materials, qualifying material changes, cost reduction, and supporting other projects such as sterilization.
• Maintain the approved supplier list (ASL) with QA, grade and track suppliers on the supplier scorecard.
• Work with finance for budgeting/costing raw materials and services. Resolve outstanding AP issues with accounting.
• Work with Engineering to research, source and acquire necessary raw materials.
• Expedite materials as needed by Production; communicate dates with sales, planning, and production.
• Negotiate MRO items and programs
• Assist with engineering and facility items as needed

EDUCATION:

• B.S. in Business / Supply Chain preferable
• Experience may be substituted for education

EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 yrs. of relevant work experience in a medical device manufacturing environment or regulated industry. A minimum of 1 year with direct responsibility for Purchasing in a high SKU environment. Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Purchasing (CPM) is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Proven computer skills — database, spreadsheet, written communication including electronic communications: (ERP, MS Office, particularly Excel and Word)
• Ability to effectively negotiate with suppliers
• Experience in ERP systems including maintenance of product purchasing data.
• Ability to influence attitudes and actions without authority
• Strong multi-tasking and organization skills. Ability to work on multiple important tasks at the same time.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, problem solving skills required.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Effective, written and verbal communication skills required.

TRAVEL

• Position requires light travel, approximately less than 5% per year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
