Dart Container Hiring for Network Engineer Full Time

We have the ability to hire at the Associate or Mid-level for this position.

You’ll work a hybrid schedule of 3 days on site in our Dallas, Texas facility and up to 2 days remote.

The Associate level Network Engineer will support Dart’s global data communications network. The position includes installation, proactive monitoring, optimization, maintenance and support of all network hardware, software, policies, procedures and associated systems.

The Mid-level Network Engineer will administer and support Dart’s global data communications network. The position includes participation in the design, development, installation, proactive monitoring, optimization, maintenance and support of all network hardware, software, policies, procedures, and associated systems.

Day-to-Day Role:

Associate level will:

• Deploy and maintain WAN, LAN, Wireless, Voice and Video solutions and networks including servers, routers, switches, and related hardware
• Troubleshoot, identify and repair complex network issues for WAN, LAN, Voice, Video, Internet connections and end-user issues
• Communicate and coordinate network maintenance, operational status, and downtime to users and management

Mid level will:

• Deploy and maintain Cloud, WAN, LAN, Wireless, Voice and Video solutions and networks including servers, routers, switches, gateways and related hardware
• Troubleshoot escalated issues to identify and repair complex network issues for WAN, LAN, Voice, Video, Internet connections and end-user issues
• Communicate and coordinate network maintenance, operational status, and downtime to users and Management as per established change management process and procedures
• Aid in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and maintain current knowledge of plan executables
• Perform analysis of network needs and contribute to design of network architecture, integration, and installation
• Participate as a contributor in the implementation of projects, taking direction from Network Architects, Senior Engineers and/or project leads
• Provide guidance and instruction to other members of the team
• Ensure via collaboration with internal IT Security as well as external OEM’s and vendors that Network security hardening/compliance is integrated into all designs and operational remediation
• Provide technical mentoring to team members and foster a continuous improvement mindset

In addition to the above, both levels will:

• Respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Prepare and maintain documentation of network standards, configurations, procedures and cabling layouts
• Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
• Monitor and identify network capacity and performance issues to maximize efficiency of company communication systems
• Perform system and equipment audits
• Recommend network design changes based upon system review, test results, monitoring data and company requirements

Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal Associate level candidate must possess all of the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years working in a multi-network, multi-protocol environment
• Ability to collaborate with team members

Preferred Skills and Qualifications for Associate level:

• One (1) year experience with EIGRP or BGP or OSPF routing protocols
• One (1) year experience with Cisco Nexus/Data Center deployment/operation
• One (1) year experience with Large scale, multi-site WiFi deployment/WLC/Cisco Prime or DNA Center
• One (1) year experience with Cisco ASA/AnyConnect/ACS/ISE/IPS
• One (1) year experience with API for network platforms (ACI, Zscaler, other)
• One (1) year experience with one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Python or Go
• One (1) year experience with Cisco ACI configuration, and operations
• One (1) year experience with Cisco ACI scripting via Ansible or other scripting products
• One (1) year experience operating a security architecture that secures all corporate enterprise network edges (both ingress and egress)
• One (1) year experience with centralized logging platforms that support operations and security investigations
• One (1) year experience maintaining current network topology, logical flow and other required documentation with Visio or equivalent tool
• One (1) year experience ensuring all network assets are fully managed such that inventory (CMDB or other) matches both maintenance contracts and monitoring tools

The ideal Mid- level candidate must possess all of the following:

• Requires one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in computer science, information systems, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years working in a multi-network, multi-protocol environment, OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of experience within the last nine (9) years working in a multi-network, multi-protocol environment
• Requires one of the following:
  • Cisco CCNA certification OR
  • Eight (8) years of network routing and switching experience OR
• Detailed knowledge of OSPF/EIGRP/Spanning Tree protocols
• Three (3) years of experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols
• Three (3) years of experience with comprehensive knowledge in two or more of the following areas: Cloud (Azure, AWS) networking, Routing and Switching, Security (Firewalls, Proxy technology), Wireless, Data Center, Video/Voice, SD-WAN
• One (1) year of experience with Cisco ACI configuration, and operations
• Two (2) years of experience implementing and operating a security architecture that secures all corporate enterprise network edges (both ingress and egress)
• Three (3) years of experience maintaining current network topology, logical flow and other required documentation with Visio or equivalent tool.
• Ability to use Network Sniffers and analyze data to resolve network issues
• Strong customer service orientation

Preferred Skills and Qualifications for Mid-level:

• Three (3) years of experience with Cisco Nexus/Data Center deployment/operation
• Two (2) years of experience with large scale, multi-site WiFi deployment/WLC/Cisco Prime or DNA Center
• Two (2) years of experience with Cisco ASA/AnyConnect/ACS/ISE/IPS
• One (1) year of experience with Cisco Call Manager/Unity/UCS
• One (1) year of experience with API for network platforms (ACI, Zscaler, other)
• Two (2) years of experience with one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Python or Go
• One (1) year of experience with Cisco ACI scripting via Ansible or other scripting products
• One (1) year of experience with SD-WAN configuration to leverage BFD and SLA’s to maximize bandwidth efficiency
• One (1) year of experience with SD-WAN and SASE integration to enhance security
• Two (2) years of experience with centralized logging platforms that support operations and security investigations
• Two (2) years of experience ensuring all network assets are fully managed such that inventory (CMDB or other) matches both maintenance contracts and monitoring tools
• Cisco ISR/3845/3850/3750/2960 experience

In addition to the above, both levels require:

• Strong understanding of network QoS methods, markings and mitigation strategies
• Ability to conduct research across a wide range of networking, telephony, video, security and wireless issues
• Ability to operate tools, components, peripherals, and testing equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedure manuals
• Ability to analyze network performance data to identify trends and potential problems, and support recommendations to modify and/or upgrade network equipment or services
• Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
• Ability to effectively investigate and resolve issues starting with limited information
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on listening and questioning
• Ability to articulate technical and non-technical information to personnel with varying levels of technical knowledge
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent collaboration abilities with internal Dart IT as well as all other Dart business functions. Additionally, collaboration with external Dart service providers, vendors, and other external entities. Collaboration topics can include but not be limited to – operations, projects, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent customer service orientation acting as a positive solution conduit for all business and technical encounters, spanning daily Service Desk incidents to ambiguous business and technical situations
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
• Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle upon hire
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
• Availability to be on call 24/7 as part of an on-call rotation

Preferred Skills and Qualifications for both levels:

• One (1) year of experience with Cisco DNA Center
• One (1) year experience developing automation scripts for various network platforms with Ansible or other products
• One (1) year experience implementing, and maintaining Cisco SD-WAN fabric utilizing templates
• Cisco CCNA certification
• Practical experience cabling and wiring systems, topologies, design, and installation
