Army G6 Knowledge Management Specialist
Strategy Consulting Team (SCT) is seeking Knowledge Management Expert to support the Army G6. The G-6 organization requires expert knowledge management assistance to develop, implement and support knowledge management (KM) policies, strategies, practices and projects, enabling the SIG and StratComm to fully support the G-6.
Duties:
· Identify KM requirements, assess existing and emerging capabilities to fulfill those needs, and provide recommendation to organizational leadership for implementation. Initiate, plan, execute, control, monitor and close out KM initiatives.
· Develop KM strategies, policies and procedures for use within the SIG. This includes all file storage locations available, such as SharePoint, Teams and shared drives. Assists in developing the strategy for optimal use of SharePoint and other collaborative tools within the organizations and takes a leading role in implementing SharePoint. The KM program within the SIG should enable synchronized and coordinated efforts across the entire staff to fully incorporate messaging and Congressional and industry engagements throughout the G-6’s strategies and plans.
· Implement KM best practices and organizational KM policies and procedures first within the SIG, and then within the G-6 organization. Coach G-6 staff on KM best practices.
· As required, supports preparation of written materials and provides KM updates in staff meetings. Prepares and presents briefings as required to promote the KM program.
Qualifications:
o Master’s degree preferred, preferably in a field related to national security
o Mastery of the theory and practice of knowledge management. Comprehensive understanding of how people learn and how knowledge assets can be used to gain efficiencies in an organization.
o Familiarity with a wide range of interpersonal methods and information technologies that are used for knowledge management activities. Ability to analyze the goals, problems, practices, organization, and resources of an organization in order to assess readiness for knowledge management. Ability to formulate appropriate recommendations for management consideration; recommendations that address the organization’s objectives.
o Mastery of creating and maintaining collaborative relationships. Ability to network with experts outside the organization and to study best practices. Experience coordinating efforts with managers and staff in program and information technology areas.
o Experience serving as project manager.
o Comprehensive understanding of change management and process improvement (lean, six sigma, CPI, etc.) concepts and processes.
o Extensive military knowledge in terms of military capabilities, systems, operational concepts, and strategic theory, as well as expert knowledge with Army planning processes, communications, cyber, data, and network capabilities.
o Comprehensive knowledge of Army processes and systems work within multiple disciplines including information, operational, diplomacy, budgeting, spectrum, and the role of technology in the competition continuum.
o Executive level research skills using classified and unclassified information
o Executive writing and communication skills
o Exceptional interpersonal skills.
o Exceptional strategic problem-solving skills
o Secret clearance required
