• Two part time (0.4 FTE) ongoing roles
• Leading Children’s Hospital
• Occupational Therapist / Social Worker

As part of our two-year Transformation Program, the RCH Mental Health Service is investing in clinical educators. These two new ongoing 0.4 FTE clinical educator positions, will be responsible for providing clinical education to Social Work and Occupational Therapy graduates who are due to commence with the RCH Mental Health Service in early 2023. The home base for these graduates will be the Brimbank Melton Infant, Child and Family Health and Wellbeing Hub, with these positions to also be located at the hub to provide the clinical education (location currently being chosen).

These two senior roles will provide leadership and develop a supporting learning environment through:

• Providing individual and group based clinical education (multidisciplinary and discipline specific) to graduate intakes of Social Work and Occupational Therapy to support core competencies around assessment, collaborative goal setting, developing a treatment plan, working with families, and in specific social work and occupational therapy assessment and treatment modalities
• Working with the Discipline Senior Social Work and the Discipline Senior Occupational Therapy, provide an annual calendar of clinical education to Social Workers and Occupational Therapists across various grades and years of experience within our service (noting that the predominant cohort of consumers are infants and children aged 0 to 11 years)
• Lead the delivery of the RCH Mental Health Services’ Grade 1 Program which is a multidisciplinary two-year program that was developed internally and run for the first time in 2022. This will include delivering training sessions to graduates
• Across 2023 and 2024, lead the implementation of the services’ newly developed competencies framework, including working alongside Team Coordinators, Discipline Seniors and Clinical Supervisors to under a skills audit across 2023.
