About the role:
As a Software Engineer you will work closely with business analysts and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards.

As a Senior Java Developer you will be involved in the full systems life cycle and be responsible for designing, coding and testing applications. You will work closely with the Technical Architect and the BAs to translate functional requirements into technical approaches and layout the basis of the implementation A senior developer you will have expertise in the development tools and procedures and has an end-to-end picture of the solution being developed.

What you will be doing:

As a Senior Java Developer you will:

• Be responsible for the development of new features and improvements of applications for electronic payments platform,

• Provide application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project,

• Develop program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications,

• Code, test, debug and document software applications,

• Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented,

• Demonstrate an understanding of C2P systems and the financial services industry,

• Analyze requirements, and translates business requirements into product designs,

• Write technical specifications and other forms of documentation,

• Conduct planning, analysis and forecasting activities to plan projects and tasks,

• Work within Agile methodologies

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience,

• Experienced building out a services platform or integration development.

• Around 6 years of applications development experience,

• excellent problem-solving, team, and time management skills,

• Agile environment experience with great communication and collaboration skills

• Very strong core java programming

• Strong development experience writing concurrent and distributed applications.

• Ability to learn and build on top of custom (inhouse developed) architecture

• Knowledge with Kubernetes, Swagger, Docker , Kafka , AKKA/Scala Is a plus.

• Sound Java 1.8 experience

• knowledge of J2EE, JMS and knowledge of message based systems such as MQ

• Experience working in and deploying applications in the Cloud AWS, Azure,

• Experience developing RESTful Web Services and microservices.

• knowledge of (application servers) WebSphere and JBoss

• knowledge of Oracle and or Postgres and relational databases

Added bonus if you have:

• Knowledge of jBPM, BPEL or BPMN will be an asset,

• Payments expertise eg. DE, NPP, ISO20022, SEPA, SWIFT MT

• Knowlede of FIS OPF and NA frameworks
