St Leonards CE Primary Academy have a vacancy for Teaching Assistant to join our popular, inclusive Church Academy, which is part of The Diocese of Chichester Academy Trust. In October 2021 we were graded as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the class teacher to provide support for learning as well as consistent pastoral and behavioural support. You will have a knowledge of supporting pupils with SEND-including Autism and Speech, Language and Communication difficulties.

It is essential that our Teaching Assistants are effective team players but are also able to work on their own initiative and be adaptable in this busy and broad role.

You will have a range of strategies to support pupils with SEND and strong behaviour management experience. A Level 2/3 NVQ is desirable but not essential.

We have an experienced inclusion team with friendly and supportive staff, who have a wealth of expertise, and we are committed to the continued professional development and training for all staff.

You will also be expected to supervise the lunchtime period either inside or outside and administer first aid as required (training will be given).

The position is for 30 hours per week, term time only, Monday – Friday, 8.45am – 3.15pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. (For the right candidate the hours can be negotiable, i.e., part time, mornings only). You will be paid on the Single Status pay scale Grade 3, scale point 7, £20,812 pro rata, per annum. (Actual salary will be £14,449.70 per annum).
