The post holder is part of MBBS Management which manages the delivery and quality assurance of the undergraduate medicine degree programme at UCL Medical School (UCLMS) and works in collaboration with the Medical School’s Centre for International MedicalEducation Collaborations (CIMEC), which provides education consultancy and knowledge transfer arising from Medical School activities. The programme commissions teaching from UCL’s School of Life and Medical Sciences and clinical training from a wide range of NHS Trusts, Primary Care and Community placement providers. The team aims to provide high quality and innovative services to staff and students to underpin and enhance medical education and the medical student experience and to inform consultancy contracts.
This position is available for 1 year in the first instance. The post holder is a key member of the Senior MBBS Management Team working with CIMEC as the professional services advisor for MBBS programme and placements management; and for managing a team and coordinating a network of placements administrators; and for designing systems and structures to ensure high quality placement administration. Interviews will take place on Monday 19th December (PM).
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, NVQ III, equivalent tertiary level qualification, or have substantial relevant experience. They will have experience in a managerial role, preferably in a Medical School or other academic environment. The post holder will have experience of analysing, designing and implementing administrative systems to achieve and underpin high quality services. In addition they will have experience of developing strategies and policies to support organisational transformation and excellence. An in depth knowledge of Higher Education academic programme management requirements, audiences, interactions and services and appropriate technologies to support them, preferably in relation to undergraduate medical education is advantageous.
