About this role
The Junior Quality Assurance Engineer (Junior QA) is responsible for testing, validating and verifying that Plusnet platforms are fit for purpose at all times. This is achieved by the use of automation, regression tests and adherence to acceptance criteria for all work submitted by the Quality Assurance team, which will be rolled to the live platform. You work collaboratively as a member of a team to refine requirements, creating test plans, designing test cases, writing scripts, and testing the applications. You also provide technical and coordination support to the internal software release cycle.
You will continuously evaluate the systems, Quality Assurance policies, standards and procedures for improvements and take into account legal, regulatory, Human Rights and policy constraints.
You will develop a good understanding of the needs of your customer. We are very customer-focused and take pride in considering customer experience at every step.
As a Junior Quality Assurance Engineer you keep up to date with the latest developments in Software Testing and apply industry standards and industry best practices. An emphasis of the Junior QA role is on personal development to build on your past experience through personal learning, exposure to other QAs and staying current with innovations in this ever-developing field.
You’ll have the following responsibilities
- Follow processes and standards and where possible provide recommendations for improvement
- Continuously improve quality of QA processes based on your own experiences
- Personal development and improvement of skill set
- Keeping up-to-date with latest developments in your field
You’ll have the following skills & experience
You will form part of a self-organizing, cross-functional Scrum team delivering valuable software in weekly iterations. You will use a variety of agile engineering practices such as TDD, Refactoring, User Stories, Continuous Integration and Pair-Programming to deliver high-quality software at a rapid pace. We work closely with business Product Owners to understand their goals and to help shape solutions. Through weekly retrospectives and contributing to the on-going refinement to our Scrum way of working you will help us to continue to improve as a team and deliver more business value, faster
As a Junior QA Engineer you are responsible for the testing and support of software applications as required by business projects.
