An impressive family friendly culture is on offer and the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis throughout the week. Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for statutory, tax and management reporting for the company and it’s entities.

Key responsibilities

• Ownership of day-to-day accounting, tax accounting and ensuring the accuracy of all accounting and tax records.
• Ownership of the month end reporting pack with the ability to brief the FC / CFO of the financial performance of all subsidiaries against budget/forecast incorporating key business drivers and highlighting risks.
• Manage a team of 7 direct reports with a focus on team culture and development.
• Review all tax submissions and ensure the accuracy and on time lodgement of FBT returns, BAS statements, PAYG, income tax returns.
• Responsible for accuracy of weight average costs of inventories on a monthly basis in inventory ERP system and accounting system and investigating inventory discrepancies on a timely matter. This includes to true up monthly product price variable and product consumption variable.
• Review month end balance sheet reconciliations and identify issues.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements for 31 Dec and 30 June reporting periods.
• Manage semi-annual external audit process. This includes drafting accounting position papers (IFRS 15, AASB 9 and IFRS 16, etc) and audit specific workpapers.
• Actively identify the improvements in current process and procedures and assist the CFO to improve efficiency and the value of the finance function to the organisation.

Skills sought

• 5+ years experience in accounting and financial reporting with CA/CPA qualification
• FMCG and dairy experience is highly regarded
• Big 4 experience is highly regarded
• Strong accounting knowledge on FMCG, manufacturing inventories and group consolidation
• Strong commercial mind set and problem solving skills with proactive working attitude
• Excellent communication skill verbally and in writing
• Great team player and excellent time management skills
• Perform efficiently under the pressure
• Resilience when faced with challenges
