Steve Madden Hiring for INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER at Long Island City, New York Full Time

General Summary: This position is responsible for managing the delivery of advisory and independent assurance services to the business while facilitating the maintenance and development of efficient and effective internal controls across the organization. This position will plan and execute financial and operational audits in line with audit process and procedures outlined in Department Manual or meet external auditor expectations for reliance purposes.

Major Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of an annual risk assessment utilized by Internal Audit to develop annual audit plans.
• Continuously improve the comprehensive risk-based internal audit methodology and execute operational, IT and Financial internal audit reviews in line with the methodology to identify control and operational weaknesses and work with the business process owner to create effective management action plans to address the identified gaps.
• Manage and participate in all phases of the audit, including scoping, planning, fieldwork and reporting for assigned audit, advisory and ad hoc projects; Draft audit reports and submit to Director/VP for final review before issuance.
• Manage and review internal controls as part of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Effectively evaluating testing exceptions and partnering with the business to develop effective remediation plans.
• Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders, including corporate, operations and finance management, as well as external auditors.
• Promote high levels of ethical awareness and conduct across the company
• Provide on-boarding, coaching and training/development for Internal Audit staff
• Undertake other tasks or special projects as and when required by management
• Other duties may be assigned

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least five years experience in an audit (internal or external) role.
• CPA or CIA Preferred

The pay range of this position is $140,000 – $170,000. Actual salary will be determined based off candidate’s skill sets, years of experience, and other job-related factors. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, 401K, and additional company benefits.
