SENsational Tutors Ltd Hiring for 1:1 private SEN tutors – autism, ADHD, PDA, up to £70 pr hr at Reading Full Time

Interviewing now for immediate or January 2022 start:

SENsational Tutors Ltd are looking for highly experienced and fully-qualified SEN tutors with QTS required immediately for sessions in person in Reading and surrounding areas.

Sessions during DAYTIME, MONDAY TO FRIDAY. You will also be able to work flexibly around your own availability.

SEN experience: You will work privately or through the local authorities on a 1: 1 basis to make a difference to children with SEN including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other additional needs.

Hourly rate: You will be self-employed and able to set / negotiate your own rate of pay. Most tutors charge between £56 and £70 per hour depending on skills and experience.

Hours per week: 5 – 30 hours per week.

To become a SENsational Tutor you will need:

• QTS;
• At least 5 hours of daytime availability, Monday to Friday, with a view of increasing your availability due to the current demand for tutors;
• at least 3 years’ experience teaching and assessing English and / or Maths and / or Science in primary and / or secondary schools;
• at least 3 years’ experience working with SEN special educational needs such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, ADD, PDA, dysgraphia, and global developmental delay;
• a proven record of being able to heighten pupil’s confidence, self-esteem and love of learning;
• 100% passion for education, commitment, reliability and honesty;
• to creatively apply differentiated techniques to planning and teaching;
• excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills;
• incredible patience;
• an excellent knowledge of different learning styles and how to use these;
• the ability to deal with possible behaviour issues;
• the ability to work flexibly and attend meetings outside hours if necessary;
• to be a team-worker;
• a valid enhanced DBS check;
• a willingness to apply for public liability and professional indemnity insurance;
• register to work as self-employed.

You will need to:

• plan and prepare lessons in accordance to student’s individual needs;
• assess and monitor pupils’ work and feedback to parents;
• report and assess pupil behaviour;
• record students’ progress and provide grades and written feedback;
• deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on a one-to-one basis;
• make sure that the pupils that you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity;
• support and assess the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues as necessary;
• supervise pupil safety.
