We work with adults and youth alike, including individuals with disabilities, people experiencing poverty, nonprofit partners, and corporate groups from Forest Grove and the greater Portland Metro area. JOB DESCRIPTION
Adventures Without Limits is looking to add a Program Coordinator to our team! If you are looking for the next step in your guiding career, this could be a great fit for you! The PC’s will work closely with the Director of Outreach and Development (DOD) and the Operations Manager (OM) in a team setting to ensure quality programing. While there are specific skills we are looking to find, if you believe you are a good fit, we want to hear why!
As a Program Coordinator (PC), your primary responsibility will be guiding outdoor trips for a wide variety of populations. Program Coordinator candidates can expect to primarily work as a Lead Adventure Guide, supporting single and multi-day programs from mid May to early September. During these months, additional responsibilities include; managing and maintenance of relevant outdoor equipment, pre/post program communication and logistics, and leading a small team of guides, interns, and volunteers during programs. On trips, each PC is expected to act as the Trip Leader, modeling best guiding practices and AWL values in the field, and acting as a mentor to seasonal guides, interns, and volunteers. As Trip Leader, your responsibility also includes implementing Risk Management strategies in the field, and instructing and facilitating skills to seasonal guides and participants. Leading up to, and post Summer season, PC’s can expect to work on projects including; marketing, social media, development and fundraising, volunteer management, staff training, gear maintenance, and other projects as needed/dictated by each candidate’s professional experience.

IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR BRILLIANCE, YOU WILL RECEIVE:
$28,000 – $30,000 (DOE) with benefits, including:
SCHEDULE: Adventures Without Limits operates year-round adaptive recreation programming, with our busiest season during the summer months, May through September. The Program Coordinator will be asked to work full time during the summer months, including weekends, and overnight trips. The hours will taper during the shoulder seasons (January through April, October) with roles and responsibilities shifting to support nonprofit management work, including but not limited to: fundraising/development, marketing, communications, volunteer management, in addition to winter programming.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position will work out of our office located in Forest Grove, OR. You will work collaboratively with the entire AWL team, with the goal of supporting each other professionally in order to produce safe and successful programs. Your time will be split between the office/warehouse and in the field for programs. During our busy season (May-Sept) expect to spend 80% of your time in the field and 20% of your time with trip prep and gear management. Trip days are often 8-12 hour days, and include weekends. During the slower months (Jan – April, October) the hours will taper depending on program activities, and the PC can expect to spend their time supporting the leadership team with volunteer management, program development, and fundraising projects, while still supporting Winter, Fall, and Spring programming.
