The Opportunity

We have the opportunity for you to join our team as an Assistant Management Accountant. You will be involved in assisting the preparation of weekly accounts, material & labour variance analysis, business KPIs and monthly material & labour reconciliations. You will be a pro-active and flexible individual who can add some real value to the finance team, working closely with and supporting other key functions, providing accurate, timely and insightful information to various key stakeholders to improve business performance. In this role you will be:

• Preparing and reviewing the weekly P/L, including variance analysis to budget and forecasts.
• Business Partner key stakeholders (financial and non-financial, in particular Operations) ensuring strong commercial and operational decision making, managing financial risks and opportunities.
• Preparing daily materials and labour reports and weekly P/L forecasts.
• Attending daily materials and labour meetings.
• Tracking weekly materials and labour performance and reconciling to monthly GL entries.
• General day to day accounting responsibilities: KPI reporting, journal postings, reconciliations etc.

The Right Person

• AAT qualified/Accountancy Degree or Qualified by Experience, ideally working towards an accountancy qualification
• Experience of Industry accounts, preferably management accounts within a manufacturing environment
• Advanced MS Excel knowledge (V/H Look Ups, Pivot Tables, Macros) as well as competent in other Microsoft office programmes
• Experience with using Power BI would be beneficial
• Experience of using accounting systems, with Aurora or Microsoft AX experience being an advantage
