Colorado Academy Hiring for Tutors – Horizons Job at Denver, CO Full Time

Horizons Colorado seeks Part-Time Tutors to work directly with our Elementary school students to assist them in gaining a better understanding of concepts taught in the classroom.

Tutors will meet with students twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays in-person from 3:30-4:30pm at Knapp Elementary.

Training days will be either November 15th or November 17th at Knapp Elementary. The start date for this position is November 29, 2022.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to student learning, growth and advancement

• Assess and track student progress

• Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s) and create lessons

• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice

• Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills

• Collaborate effectively with parents and the organization to increase student performance

• May communicated with teachers or parents to track progress.

Requirements

• Have prior experience working in a classroom setting or tutoring

• Be patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative

• Able to take supervision and feedback constructively

• Able to positively supervise students

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Available to commit to tutoring each week

• Must pass a fingerprint and background check

Compensation

The pay range is $22.50 – $25.00 per hour depending on qualifications. Although $22.50 – $25.00 per hour is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting,Horizons Colorado reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience.
