Talent Accounting/Rights Negotiation (TARN) is instrumental to the management, control and exploitation of rights that is imperative to the success of BBC Studios. Royalty costs processed by Talent Accounting amount to c£151 million per annum, with in excess of 210,000 live contracts across BBC Studios globally.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Reconciliations Analyst to join the Talent Accounting team on a permanent basis.

The Reconciliations Analyst is responsible for ensuring control account reconciliations are conducted and exceptions identified are dealt with appropriately in a timely manner. These reconciliations include reconciliation of key financial ledgers and reconciliations between different IT systems. This is a vital function to retain integrity, accuracy and completeness of transactions posted to BBC Studios accounts.

Main Responsibilities

This role will aid the integrity of data flow between financial systems of BBC Studios Distribution (BBCS) & BBC and BBCS Royalty system. It will require the understanding of all the process flows and systems that are involved in the royalty process for all the different lines of business in BBCS to allow completion of numerous reconciliations.

Your reconciliations will provide explanation for balances held in BBCS P&L and Balance Sheet and assurance over royalty payments made to rights holders. You will actively manage any exceptions identified by these reconciliations ensuring appropriate adjustments to the P&L, Balance Sheet, Royalty system and upstream processes (where necessary).

In addition to this, you will be providing relevant, timely royalty information to business finance departments to aid resolving financial accounting issues. You will also take part in adhoc projects and support in delivering monthly reports.

Are you the right candidate?

Ideally, you will be a qualified or part qualified accountant with good problem solving skills. You will have a structured and methodical approach to tasks coupled with a thorough knowledge and understanding of double entry.

You will have an advanced level of Excel skills and ideally be a proficient in other Microsoft applications such as Access and Word and also have intermediate SAP knowledge.You will enjoy producing accurate reconciliations quickly from large data sets.

You will also have a proven track record of building and developing effective working relationships along with excellent written and verbal communication skills..
