News Corp Australia Hiring for Commercial Finance Manager Circulation Job at Sydney Full Time

This role will be responsible for supporting the Senior Commercial Finance Manager through providing commercial insight into Print Revenue and volume performance, proactively assesses impact of emerging trends on revenue outlook and support the Retail sales team in the delivery of the base budget plus initiatives. You will partner with the business in ensuring we are aligned with our strategic direction to drive long term profitability.

What’s the role?

• Circulation financial performance relative to budget.
• Drive the detailed planning / budgeting / forecasting process with key focus on initiatives and impacts to the long range plan.
• Accountability for the accurate accounting and recognition of Print Paid Sales, Merchandising Sundry Revenue and Merchandising Cost of Sales.
• Business partner with the General Manager of Circulation to ensure senior stakeholders are informed of performance and emerging trends.
• Support the retail team in the management of risks and opportunities and own the underlying planning assumptions of key initiatives.
• Perform regular ‘deep dive’ analysis into performance trends and impacts.
• Own all investment appraisal modelling in the circulation space with focus on ROI measures.
• Oversee the consolidated reporting of various consumer revenue streams into digestible insights.
• Manage 1 FTE responsible for the forecast model and all weekly / monthly reporting and campaign timelines.
• Serve as the conduit between the consumer commercial finance function and the wider finance team.
• Oversee the development of new reporting tools with the reporting teams to provide better insight into performance drivers.

Who are you?

• CA/CPA qualified.
• Strong communication, presentation skill and stakeholder management to optimise consumer value for the business.
• 3+ years experience in a similar role.
• Strong commercial acumen & professional accounting competency.
• Excellent financial acumen, with experience in revenue and cost management, business case development, financial modelling, and partnering & influencing.
• Able to operate in detail but also translate the numbers into a meaningful business story.
• Strong analytical with experience developing models to project performance.
• Strategic thinker and self-starter with a commercial approach to business.
• Resilient with an ability to manage competing deadlines.
