We are currently seeking a Highways Engineer to join our growing Scottish Roads and Highways team. As a Highways Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of project deliverables for a wide range of different projects as part of a close-knit and supportive team. Working in collaboration with the team and with guidance and support from Senior Engineers, you will help to deliver solutions for our clients.
You will play an important role in the development of high-quality solutions for our clients, including Transport Scotland, Local Authorities and Design and Build Contractors. Our portfolio includes a variety of roads and highways projects from smaller scale local improvements to large national strategic schemes and frameworks. We also work with and support teams across the UK to deliver schemes for clients, both big and small – Stantec Highways Projects
You will develop highway designs (including, but not limited to, alignment/drainage/pavement/road restraints) for all types and scales of development projects and support in the effective delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines. Working with Senior Engineers, Engineers and Technicians within the team, you will develop designs to appropriate guidance and standards for a range of scheme’s in the region. Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to learn from the wider group and take your career to the next level.

About You
You will hold a Civil Engineering Degree and will ideally be working towards Incorporated or Chartered status. You will have expertise in highway infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle – from concept, feasibility and planning through to detailed design and delivery. Ideally, you will have awareness of CDM, BIM and DMRB and knowledge of Civil 3D, drainage design using MicroDrainage or pavement design.
Your passion and experience of delivering quality infrastructure design solutions is key to your success in this role. You will understand engineering principals, have an eye for detail and be pragmatic. You will be enthusiastic, ambitious, forward thinking and have a desire to better your career.
