The Florida Literacy Coalition (FLC) promotes, supports and advocates for the effective delivery of quality adult education, literacy ESOL and family literacy services in the state of Florida. The Training and Education Coordinator is a key team member responsible for coordinating and managing professional development events offered by FLC for adult education teachers, tutors and administrators throughout Florida.
Duties include:
1. Event management – Plan, schedule and coordinate training and professional development events, including face to face and online webinars/courses.
2. Help define the scope, goals, and deliverables for FLC’s training/professional development offerings.
3. Manage the planning and implementation of the annual Florida Literacy Conference.
4. Research locations for professional development offerings (including the Conference) and negotiate related hotel/venue contracts.
5. Design and distribute email promotion/marketing materials for events, trainings and other projects.
6. Coordinate FLC’s training material grants.
7. Manage and update online tutor training course.
8. Evaluate event success and submit reports.
9. Share relevant information and resources with adult education and literacy practitioners via e-mail, FLC newsletter, trainings, social media and web site.
10. Promote FLC services and represent organization at meetings, trainings and other events as required.
11. Process travel reimbursements for training session attendees.
12. Collect and compile information for grant deliverables.
13. Recruit and supervise FLC intern.
14. Help proofread and edit essays for the annual Florida’s Adult Learner Essay Book
15. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Full-time position. One day per week is worked remotely.
