The role

The University of Bristol Business School invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. This is an open ended position with fixed funding for 3 years, subject to review (tenure track) and applications are sought from candidates with a PhD in Finance/Accounting or a related field.

What will you be doing?

You will be involved in a range of education and scholarship activities in the University of Bristol Business School. In particular, you will:

• Undertake teaching and marking on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, contributing to curriculum development, course design, and the development and delivery of learning materials.
• Act as personal tutor to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
• Supervise placements and/or dissertations at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Make a wider contribution to the success of the University through your participation in Faculty and University-wide governance and development activities.
• Undertake other administrative duties as assigned by the Head of School.

You should apply if

• You have an in-depth subject knowledge in one or more of the following areas: financial markets, banking, corporate finance and quantitative methods; For one of the positions, knowledge of accounting is also desirable.
• You hold a PhD in a relevant subject area.
• You have experience of teaching effectively at undergraduate, postgraduate or professional levels in a relevant discipline, in large and small-group settings.
• You have a proactive approach to teaching.
• You are capable of taking initiative to improve students’ learning.
• You can evidence excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• You have the ability to contribute effectively to the administration and management of the School and Faculty.
