Air Tutors Hiring for K-8 Math and/or ELA Tutor – Remote (2-4pm CT Availability) Job at Remote Full Time

Who We Are:

Air Tutors offers one-to-one and small group virtual programs to students across the country. Using our dynamic and learner-friendly platform, tutors provide engaging and supportive learning opportunities to students.

Position Description:

As a tutor for Air Tutors you are an educator who loves to help students reach their full potential! As a tutor you will work with students during the school day, after school or on the weekends in school districts across the country.

Tutors provide tutoring in the following areas:

• ELA/Reading k-8
• Math k-8

Responsibilities

Outlined below are the duties and responsibilities of Tutors. This list is not meant to be exhaustive.

• Provide a student-focused, student-driven tutoring environment
• Cultivate and maintain an engaging learning environment for student(s)
• Prep for tutoring sessions and ensure materials are appropriate for the lessons
• Create lesson plans that are aligned to student needs
• Present subject material during tutoring sessions
• Learning and mastery of Air Tutors specific tools and technology
• Notify Tutor Coordinators of any celebrations, concerns, or questions
• Attend required tutor training and orientation
• Respond in a timely manner to Air Tutors communications
• Ensure coverage and prep for tutoring sessions when absent
• Capture student participation and attendance each tutoring session
• Conduct student and family outreach to confirm tutoring sessions
• Commit to working with students and groups that you accept for the entire duration of the academic year
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, Masters and PhD/EdD preferred
• Three or more years of teaching or tutoring experience required
• Experience facilitating learning through a virtual setting highly preferred
• Experience with virtual learning technology and internet-based applications
• Fast and adaptable learner
• Energetic and engaging facilitators
• Undergraduate and graduate transcripts

Requirements:

• Open availability
• 2-4pm CST highly preferred and School hours (EST, CST, PST)
• after school hours and evening hours
• weekends
• Ownership of a touchscreen or writing tablet (i.e. iPad, Surface, touchscreen computer, etc.)
• Ownership of a computer with webcam
• Strong internet connection
• Must reside in the United States for the entire duration of contract with Air Tutors
• Must have a United States based phone number. United States territory and app-generated (Google, WhatsApp, etc.) phone numbers are not supported.
• Fingerprint clearance (reimbursable)

Compensation:

Tutors are compensated $45 per hour
