Position: Collections Specialist

This position will be located on-site at our Somerset, KY location.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate contact with consumer’s via telephone to attempt collection of outstanding balances, assuring professional and positive experience toward resolution
• Effectively communicating with consumers to obtain full payment of debt or establish acceptable payment arrangements
• Meet or exceed daily, weekly and monthly performance objectives.
• Resolve disputes
• Escalate accounts for resolution when warranted
• Performing skip-tracing efforts to obtain current location information

Schedule: This is a full time/40 hour a week position. The schedule includes 3 days shifts per week 8:00am to 5:00pm, two evening shifts per week 12:00pm to 9:00pm and two Saturday mornings per month 8:00am to 12:00pm.

All positions are full time. The hourly rate to this position is $16.00 an hour.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalency required
• Previous Collections or Call Center experience required
• Experience in both education and state government receivables preferred
• Highly detail oriented, organized, and able to multitask
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to navigate through internet resources available to locate consumers
• Stable work history
• Excellent listening skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
