Being an OSHC educator holds a lot of flexibility to prioritise study or family needs, and at the Y, you might just discover a family of your own – we have a supportive on the ground and at head office.
Your workspace at the Y
YMCA Gainsborough Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service is located at Gainsborough State School in Pimpama. The service is licensed for 75 children and offer Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care between the hours of 6:30am and 6pm.
The service offers a wide range of fun, stimulating and appropriate programs that reflect real world experiences and home settings. This helps encourage a sense of community amongst the children, facilitates leadership skill development and allows your child to practice social skills in a supported and caring environment.
The activities and plans are aligned with the YMCA Mission – to provide opportunities for children to grow in body, mind and spirit – underpinned by our values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. We blend this philosophy with the National Quality Framework ‘My Time Our Place’ and Gainsborough State School’s educational principles to develop appropriate, engaging and most of all FUN activities for your child whilst in our care.
What being an OSHC Educator Entails
OSHC educators care for children before school, after school and during school holiday periods. Highlights include running fascinating, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children – such as science experiments, outdoor games and painting.
