Building Based Substitute Teachers – $115 per diem (Monday through Friday position)

Daily Substitute Teachers – $105 per diem (flexible, minimum 4 days per month)

ESS has partnered with the Manchester School District to place passionate Substitute Teachers in the classroom for the 2022/2023 School Year!

When a teacher is absent, a qualified substitute is needed to carry out the educational program. As a substitute teacher, you’ll become an integral part of a school’s educational team, amplifying your teaching expertise while maximizing the learning experience for students!

An ESS substitute teacher assists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This person follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed.

Both Daily and Building Based Substitute Positions are currently available!

As a Building Based Substitute Teacher, you work at the same school, Monday through Friday, for the 22/23 School Year and are assigned to your position by the administration each day. This is a great opportunity to have a consistent schedule and become part of a specific school community! Opportunities are currently available throughout the District at the following schools:

Bennet Academy

Manchester Middle Academy

Manchester Regional Academy

Martin Elementary School

Verplanck Elementary School

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher’s routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
• CT/FBI Criminal History Clearance
• Department of Children and Families Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Record Clearance
• Education Employment Verification – Act 16-67
