You will be joining a flagship team consisting of Product Managers, Full Stack Developers, Testing Engineers, Service Developers and Scrum Masters. As the Software Developer you will be designing, building and maintaining digital products used by 1000’s of users daily. The key focus of this team is migration, (WordPress to Adobe), Digital Product Enhancements, Fixing Bugs, SEO, and testing. Across the digital teams in MaPS, there is an exciting pipeline of future projects to support candidates looking for fast tracked career progression.”_
Working as a Software Developer at MaPS, you will be responsible for the following Digital Development;
· Writing efficient, reusable and well-documented code.
· Using the latest front and back end techniques to build digital experiences, working closely with designers, developers, and editors.
· Following a component-driven development practice, using a content management system, shared component libraries, and shared design principles, to work efficiently while providing a clear and consistent user experience.
· Engaging collaboratively with Architecture and DevOps on solutions design and implementation to ensure robust and well supported software.
· Collaborating with other digital disciplines (e.g. UX, Analytics) to produce accessible digital experiences.
· Follow GDS guidelines for Government Digital Services.
· Write and review technical documentation.
· Participate in our agile planning, estimation and delivery processes.
· Peer review developed code as part of our workflow.
· Able to self-manage including keeping technical knowledge up to date.
This Software Developer will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
· Demonstrate their experience in full stack web development.
· Be an experienced coder with natural technical design skills.
· Have significant experience of developing on a major component content management system such as AEM, Sitecore, Episerver etc.
· Can commit to high quality, robust engineering practices, particularly those associated with Agile frameworks.
· Experience of productive collaboration with design, testing, product and other digital delivery colleagues.
· You will be up to date with coding best practices and be able to introduce new technologies and practices into the team.
Desirable but not essential:
· Experience of Adobe Experience Manager and JavaScript frameworks, particularly React
