About Spectrum
Spectrum is the personality disorder and complex trauma service for Victoria, funded by the Department of Health and provided by Eastern Health. Spectrum provides direct clinical care for people with complex and/or severe personality disorders as well as secondary consultations and second opinions for clinicians who support the needs of clients experiencing BPD. Spectrum also offers a range of workforce development opportunities including training and carer support workshops. Spectrum’s translational research program includes collaborative projects with a range of university, government and community organisations as well as evaluation of Spectrum treatment programs.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organisation to support a range of research projects within an established research team. The scope of work includes externally funded projects, internal evaluations, collaborative projects, and co-supervision of student-led research. The role entails ongoing contribution to project development, approval processes, contributing to and assisting with data collection and analysis, and contribution to dissemination activities.
Key Selection Criteria
A strong interest in personality disorder and/or trauma research and/or previous experience working with people who have complex needs (e.g., Mental health, AOD, disability)
Demonstrated research skills including conducting literature reviews and preparation of applications for ethics and governance approval
Prior experience in research project planning, data collection, data entry, data analysis, and report-writing
High level of attention to detail, including accurate scheduling, data collection and record keeping
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, and to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
Well-developed computing skills, including word processing (e.g. Microsoft Office) and database software packages (e.g. SPSS, Stata, Nvivo, Access)
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to working as part of a team
