Overview of the Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist:
- Ensure business continuity through diligent monitoring and maintenance of our entire I.T. ecosystem, including voice & data networks, servers, applications, hardware, cyber-security, etc.
- Provide first level support to internal & external clients using a myriad of best practice troubleshooting techniques, and break/fix procedures.
- Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks, and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Install and maintain hardware and computer peripherals.
- Install and upgrade operating systems and computer software.
- Troubleshoot networking and connection issues.
Preferred Qualifications for the Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist
- College degree in the field of computer science or information technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a desktop support engineer.
- Advanced knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals.
- Advanced knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting experience with all Windows operating systems including servers.
- Basic knowledge of current and legacy Microsoft domain environments including Active Directory, Exchange, DNS.
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols and applications including WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, switches, and firewalls.
