Our Human Resources (HR) position at Fawley (near Southampton) offers a great career development opportunity for a HR professional seeking a varied and influential position. The role offers the opportunity to be part of a Global HR Organisation that strives to lead talent strategies and deliver valued solutions that unleash the capabilities of ExxonMobil people to win.
The Refinery & Petrochemical Complex is a 24/7 operation, with a variety of roles, working patterns and operational contexts, presenting plenty of opportunities for HR, in addition to working alongside a partly Unionized workforce and significant Contractor population.
We are already involved in a number of projects in the UK to help support the energy transition, including a project to explore the potential for hydrogen production and carbon capture in Southampton. This role will support our leadership team as this project progresses.
In addition, there would also be opportunities to work on broader UK and international initiatives, collaborating across all levels of the organisation.

What role would you play within our team.
The Senior HR Business Partner role supports a range of departments across Fawley, providing a great opportunity to build relationships with the Management Team and be a highly effective and influential business partner.
Working as part of a global HR organisation, our UK based team focuses on strategic partnership with our business line customers, working closely with them to implement HR strategies, organisational changes, and ensuring a productive work environment.
Responsibilities include:
Proactively partnering with the business to develop and deliver people strategies in support of our ambition to achieve net zero in all our operations by 2050, utilising diagnosis and organisational effectiveness tools to help achieve this.
Working with the business on strategic workforce planning including talent strategies, succession plans, skills development and facilitating staffing and development processes.
Providing guidance on employee relations matters, including HR support to employee forums and development of labour relations strategies for both our unionised and non-unionised workforce.
Working closely with the business to Implement change management best practices to support organisational change and business initiatives.
Supporting supervisors through coaching, team effectiveness, staffing discussions and the performance assessment process.
Who are we looking for.
We would welcome applications from experienced HR Business Partners and, Senior HR Professionals.
To be eligible for this role, you must,
Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
Be, or be working towards being, a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, or equivalent.
Have relevant professional experience, preferably in an operational environment with union experience.
Understand the complexities of working in an international organisation.
Possess strong analytical, problem solving and coaching skills.
Be able to demonstrate a strong customer focus and outstanding communication skills.
